Absolutely the easiest vacation rental experience I've ever had. The online reservation and payment process was simple. The keyless entry to the duplex was fabulous as was the text message system that let us know when our unit was available. The duplex was clean and well-equipped and had obviously been recently renovated. To top it all off, Holden Beach was BEAUTIFUL - no high rise condos or hotels, no fireworks, no huge crowds ... nothing but peace, quiet, and glorious beach! We'll be back!!
Buyer Beware!! Avoid this property and this company!!! We booked “Tons of Fun” 163OBW from Hobbs Realty for our family vacation in July of this year. Upon arrival at the home we discovered several plastic bowls overflowing water onto the floor and brown water raining from the ceiling onto the furniture. The house had a musty wet odor. My daughter slipped and fell on the wet tile and my husband immediately called Hobbs. A maintenance crew was sent to the home and climbed up into the ceiling. A clogged air conditioning line was blamed and the crew said they unclogged it. The plastic bowls were moved and a large trash can was placed under the main leak. He was assured it would stop leaking and dry up “in a couple of days”. The ceiling dripped for the remainder of the week. The mops, towels, and trash can filled with dirty water were left there for the duration of our stay, even after follow-up calls from my husband to the realty company. The cleaning crew and Hobbs had to have been aware of the leak prior to allowing us to check-in, because someone obviously placed all the plastic bowls around. An inspection in the walkway under the property showed rotting wood that indicated that this had likely been a problem for some time. Overall, the unit was not clean. There was food left in the cabinets from previous guests. None of the remotes had batteries, and the only TV that would work was in the living room. The slipcovers on the furniture were filthy. The bathtub in the back bedroom has a disgusting yellow rectangle area (either a patch, or place where a filthy mop has been left). I was humiliated because we had invited guests to join us on this trip. My husband has contacted Hobbs numerous times and has been assured that “management” will call him back. I have accepted that we were scammed out of nearly $3700. Feel free to contact me for photos and video…I’m glad to prevent another family from making this mistake.

Great week. Rented "Shore to Delight" which is a wonderful house. Hobbs has been very helpful and accommodating. I will definitely contact Hobbs first for our next vacation at Holden Beach.
We have been using Hobbs Realty for well over ten years and have no complaints. Since we have retired it has been our dream to spend more than just a week at Holden Beach. Our search of the right cottage lead us to 2Escape and we have never turned back. It has been a home away from home now for the past 3 years. Such a pristine cottage is a challenge to find and we were fortune to find it. Thanks to the owners and Hobbs. We love the website Hobbs has as it is easy to navigate and informative in every respect. Keep up the good work.
